My name is Peer van der Burgh and since more than 25 years I have been a professional musician and troubadour. My main goal is always: creating atmosphere, wherever I am! I don’t use any amplification, so I can always mingle among the people I play for and involve them in the performance. Requests are welcome, and so is dancing and singing along. Because there are hardly any limitations to my repertoir, anybody can pick his or her choice, be it Irish Ballads, Sea-songs, French Chansons, Evergreens or Rock & Roll. Long ago, during my study at Leiden University, I have devoted myself to learning languages, among them French, Spanish and Greek. A good few of my songs are from these countries. Apart from my solo-work, I play accordion in the Dutch folk-group Kees Ouwejan & Makkers (specialism: Irish folkmusic and), founded in 1976, but still going strong! I also play guitar in Windkracht 8, specialized in international seasongs and sailor’s music. |
